I stopped reading Hunger Games, because it just wasn't appealing to me. Today I brought a collection of stories from home by Anton Chekhov. I've been skipping around the book a bit, not necessarily reading the stories in order.
I hate starting new books - somehow it just feels like work. I too started and didn't finish Hunger Games. It's not that I didn't like it, but I wasn't compelled to read it. Like you, I had (and continue to) heard great things about it. Sadly, it's been a while since I've read something I just couldn't put down.
For whatever reason, I never read short stories (or story collections). It would probably be a good choice for me since starting books is hard. I'll be anxious to hear what you think about the Chekhov stories.
